Circular Company

The circular economy is a strategy that aims to reduce both the input of virgin materials and the production of waste by closing the “loops” or economic and ecological flows of resources.

The analysis of physical resource flows comes from the industrial ecology school of thoughts in which material flows are of two types, biological nutrients, designed to reintroduce into the biosphere without technical incident, nutrients which are designed to circulate with high quality in the production system but do not return to the biosphere. Its scope encompasses much more than the production and consumption of goods and services, including, among other things, the shift from fossil fuels to the use of renewable energy and diversification as a means of achieving resilience. As part of the debate, it must also include a thorough discussion on the role and use of money and finance, and some of its pioneers have also called for a renewal of economic performance measurement tools.
